'Escritoire' Acrylic Study on ltd edition Giclée

Part of the collection for endometriosis awareness, 'Escritoire & Psyche' is a piece discussing how women are encouraged to keep their illness & pain hidden.
Women with diseases like endometriosis & associated fibroids, PCOS etc are often told their pain is normal & are largely left neglected & undiagnosed for up to 20 years. They are often made to feel that any inability to continue to fully function 'normally' is their own weakness or failure & this (along with a lack of diagnosis) exposes them to abuse & manipulation from medical professionals, employers & personal relationships.
 
Every exhibition is used to share peoples experiences, information & advice on how to seek safe treatment, support & self care. 
 
I am a whole-hearted supporter of Endometriosis UK's Supportive Employer Scheme - as someone who has felt the life changing difference made by a supportive boss AND witnessed the tears of fellow chronic illness sufferers at work, I am also working to share the stories & ethics of these good employers.
